General Amway talk that doesn't fit anywhere else

I knew we'd top $9 Billion for 2009. It's going to be awesome when we surpass the $10 Billion mark in 2010! I believe it's just a matter of time before we out-pace Avon to be the world's most profitable Direct Selling Company! I believe Avon has over 5 million consultants while we have over 3 million worldwide. We already are the most profitable per ABO/IBO in comparison. And Avon is no longer a pure direct marketing company with it's retail sector; which really makes us the largest true MLM Company. It's going to be another tremendous year!! :clapping:

No, Cindy above from the corp said sales data would be released this month. However last year they said North America sales data would not be reported separately, supposedly falling in line with all the other markets, which as we can see in this discussion, don't report their individual market sales data

Avon is not even a pure MLM. They still operate as a single level compensation plan in many countries with advertisement etc. So we already have been the biggest MLM company in the world for a loooong time. The only way you can make money with Avon is through retail selling which significantly limits your income potential. It is therefore irrelevant to compare the Amway business opportunity to Avon's as the income potential for distributors in MLM is significantly greater.

Hi everyone -

Happy to end all of the speculation! Our sales data was officially released at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, and the release can be found here: http://multivu.prnewswire.com/mnr/amway/42725/. I'm sure it will spark a lot of questions and discussion, and I will try to answer what I can. A few of the highlights:

- As predicted on this board, currency fluctuations impacted our final number. Sales volume increased nearly 6%, but only a 2.3% growth is reflected in the adjusted numbers.
- We're pretty proud of the growth in Latin America. OK, really proud. Sixty percent proud!
- And, we've grown nine out of the last ten years.

We'll be posting a video of Doug and Steve discussing some of this later today or tonight, so stay tuned! I'll try to stay in the forum as much as I can - I am enjoying the discussion.

- Cindy (Or, as I've been called, Cindy from Corp. Has a nice ring to it. :-))

P.S You'll notice that the link has social media sharing tools - so feel free to share the release on your blogs and social networking pages if you feel that is appropriate. It's our first time using this feature, so please let me know what you think of it.

Thanks CC! :D

I've done a post on TTAA about it - 51 years and Amway continues to grow – $8.4 billion for 2009

Also started a new thread - $12 billion in 2012

Agreed, I was just commenting that they are the world's largest direct seller(a broad term) as defined by Direct Selling Magazine. It will be irrelevant once we pass them up. I'm proud to be an IBO, & to represent the world's best business opportunity! :yahoo:
