Indeed. The only reason MichMan hasn't been banned for trolling is because he also regularly posts useful stuff.

The reason I responded with a comment about TEAM, not Randy Schroeder or Agel, was simple.

First of all, I had never heard of Randy Schroeder. We have never talked about him on this board. Randy Schroeder's name does not even appear in the Amway Talk search engine!!

Secondly, the comment was made on the AmwayTalk forum, not AgelTalk forum. So we talked about the Amway related people who fit that description.

Again, the poster made it clear he was talking about a discussion on a generic MLM board. He even mentioned some of the company names discussed. I frankly cannot see how you would think from that post he was specifically talking about TEAM.

Well ... no ... I take that back. I can see how you would think that. From past experience I know you often seem to not read what is actually written and instead see something that may be related but is in reality quite different.

You may want to consider revising that behaviour. I think it will make life happier for all involved.

What useful stuff? A bunch of "hot" topics like politics and religion?

And stuff about the DeVos family, the VanAndel family, and Grand Rapids? You mean stuff that one can find/know by going to:

http://www.mlive.com/

and

http://mediablog.amway.com/

and different blogs over at

http://www.opportunityzone.com/

Yeah, the positives far outweigh the negatives. :tease:

sure, but from that viewpoint most of my sites are useless too. The information's out there if you want to find it!

I think some folk find the Michigan updates interesting, but aren't so interested to be actively following them outside of this site.

Still, MichMan is trying my patience.

Actually - as 2 people who live and breathe Amway, Michman and I can give a different perspective on things related to Amway - and yes - politics and religion figure heavily into those equations. If you lived here, you'd understand. It's why I have been posting on forums for as long as I have - the pros call me a critic and the critics call me a pro. I'm a Grand Rapidian; which puts me into a category unto itself....LOL!

I understand that.

And speaking for myself, I can also say this: The critics MAKE me a pro, and the pros MAKE me a critic.

(You are probably the only one who could understand why I would say that.)

Deb,

With all due respect, unless you've been around and witnessed the RIDICULOUS arguments about politics and religion that had ZERO to do with Amway or it's founders, I don't think you understand my point.

It was my suggestion that we start new sections--"Politics" and "Religion," with subheadings of something like "Not for the faint of heart" and "Enter at your own risk" to get those threads distanced from even the other "Anything Goes" threads, because it was getting so over the top, and casting an ugly shadow over this entire website.

As an IBO who cringes when she reads/hears of the politics and religion being pushed down people's throats I question one's reason for "stirring the pot" on a pro-Amway forum such as this.

My views, as well as others, about politcs and religion and the Amway Business are here on TTAA from January of this year... http://www.thetruthaboutamway.com/insig ... nsibility/

Regarding Grand Rapids, I've been hesitant to post things specifically to Grand Rapids because I feel we Americans are thought of as people who see themselves as the center of the Universe.

I didn't want to be a U.S. IBO who acted the same within the World of Amway, particularly on a website built and run by an IBO halfway across the planet! Smile

But hey, if you feel knowing every in and out about Grand Rapids, and all the money poured in to that community (without the help of non-Amway-product purchasing people, mind you) is important for an IBO/ABO to build their Amway Business, go for it. :good:

Sorry All, for this completely :offtopic: post on a thread which is about Ty Tribble, Bo Short, and MAX. My fault.

Well, I think hearing about what Amway does in their local community is good, and it enhances their reputation when people know about it, and by extension enhances the IBO.

As for the politics & religion, I agree. Alas, our friends at Yager continue. As their last conference McEwen did a talk "The Politics of Freedom" with, from what 've watched so far, much the same content as last time.

How can a speech with Politics in the title not be against the rules not to talk about politics from stage?

But I guess that's for another thread ....

BUT - the Amway Founders immerse themselves neck-deep in politics and religion. To a sometimes scary level. I will spare the details, assuming Michman has already pointed a few things out....LOL!! Even though I completely believe that the big R&P have no place in business, I can see where the Bible-thumping politically assertive Big Pins got their start

Come to Grand Rapids and I'll show you what we're talking about...LOL!!

In all fairness - if you're an IBO building a business - then Ada/Grand Rapids Michigan IS the Center of the Universe. That building at 7500 E Fulton St says "World Headquarters". By having background on how Amway treats those closest to them: employees/residents/businesses...it should give an IBO a half-planet away a pretty good idea of how THEY will be treated, too

Trust me, he will call us out if we're acting arrogantly

In all fairness - Grand Rapids has been the recipient of generosity from FAR more than just the Amway Families. It's just that we figure overseas IBOs might not know about Meijer/Steelcase/Keeler/Herman Miller...or any of the myriad large corporations HQ'd in the area, too who have been unspeakably generous with their money. In MY opinion, the Crown Jewel of Grand Rapids is Meijer Gardens.
