Easter Seals Donations
#1
Well this is a North American Amway Sponsorship so felt it only fair to post here. I'm raising money and awareness for the Easter Seals campaign here in Canada called TheDropZone.ca. As some of you may or may not know, Amway is one of the latest sponsors of this event and has been for awhile as part of it's One By One program. http://easterseals.ca/english/amway-canada-corporation

"Amway is committed to helping people live better lives. This commitment extends beyond its products and business opportunity to its partnership with Easter Seals. Amway Canada is proud to partner with its independent business owners and employees to support its charity of choice, Easter Seals Canada, as part of Amway’s global One by One campaign."

I did this last year and raised almost $1,900 dollars and will raise at least $3,500 this year. See my sponsor page here: http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?re ... Pref=en-CA

Here is a video of me from last year. http://vimeo.com/17180137

I'm not looking for thousands of dollars here just a few dollars that can go a long way to helping people in need.

Thanks!
Shaun

Just a suggestion but on your donation page you might want to mention what the heck it is you're actually doing! Us foreigners don't even know what Easter Seals is, let alone "Drop Zone", and on a quick link check out we're unlikely to do another click or two to find out ....

I've updated the page with more on what the Cause is for this year. I've posted it here too as well as some more information about the charity.

Easter Seals Alberta is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of Albertans with disabilities and special needs.
Proceeds from this event help fund each of our three main programs:

• Easter Seals Camp Horizon, where every summer, over 1200 kids and adults challenge themselves and have
fun through participating in various activities that develop personal skills and build self-confi dence and
self-esteem.
• Easter Seals McQueen Residence, a fully staffed group home for disabled adults, where residents are
encouraged to learn the necessary skills and develop the confi dence to live in the community on their
own.
• Equipment and Support Services (ESS), a last resort agency supplying assistive and mobility equipment to
Albertans with disabilities and special needs, thus allowing for greater freedom and independence within our
community.

From the About on easterseals.ca (http://easterseals.ca/english/category/ ... bout-about)

One of every 7 Canadians report having a disability.
Statistics Canada, Participation and Activity Limitation Survey, 2006

“Easter Seals has shown me that I can do anything!” 15 year old Hayley Redmond

Easter Seals is dedicated to fully enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem and self-determination of Canadians with disabilities.

As Canada’s largest local provider of programs, services, issues-leadership and development for the disability community, Easter Seals is dedicated to helping more than 100,000 Canadians with disabilities participate fully in society.

Easter Seals provincial organizations offer transformative programs and services at the local level, the best known of which are Easter Seals camp programs.

Every year thousands of children challenge themselves while having the time of their lives at 15 Easter Seals camps nationwide.

Other services include year-round active living opportunities, as well as the provision of specialized mobility and access equipment such as mobility aids, assistive technology, adaptive computers, augmentative communication devices and adaptations to homes and vehicles for wheelchair accessibility.

Normally these assistive aids are cost prohibitive for most people and families. With help from its donors and sponsors, Easter Seals works to ensure that everyone with a disability has access to the equipment and services they need to make the most of their abilities.

Just a little more background...'

Amway North America has supported Easter Seals for 27 years, raising over $30 million (US) through Amway's One by One campaign.
Just wanted to mention that--that Amway, the employees, the IBOs, and Easter Seals have a long history together.

In the U.S., we have the "Walk With Me" event. I honestly would prefer scaling a building, but, well, maybe we are more a litigious people than our Canadian friends.

40% raised in under 2 weeks. http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?re ... Pref=en-CA
Almost $1400 dollars towards this great charity. I need to raise another $100 dollars so that I can actually take part in the drop zone however the main goal is $3500.

You know what's funny, there have been over 200 views here and not one donation (fair enough, I don't know everyone's finances) however i'll put that number into perspective. If just 200 people put in $20 dollars, that would be $4000 raised for this charity or really if anyone was doing a charity event whatever event they were hosting. Power of numbers for sure.

What would $20 dollars mean to someone? Well it may be 3-4 less Starbucks.

If anyone can donate, check my page out - http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?re ... Pref=en-CA
