Do partners stores still help the Amway business?

General Amway talk that doesn't fit anywhere else

Do partners stores still help the Amway business?

Postby Synergik » Wed Dec 16, 2009 2:34 am

I personnaly think that the brand names still good for the credibility of the Amway opportunity and give more choice for all the participants.

The last big name who came as a partners store is SEARS (In the US only) . That look real good, but do you know if some people (IBOS or Customers) took advantage of it?

Do you think that we should have more or less partner stores?

Some of you think "He should know that the corp is now concentrated on exclusive products"! That's right , i know that but what do you think of it?

I don't think we can be all things to all people - Partner stores are an add on with low PV/BV and no rebates -

In our team very few people had used the partner stores. Often they are more expensive that the regular stores for same products :glare:
Normally I don't talk about them when showing the business. When starting up new ABO's I mention the possibility and tell them to look for themselves if it can be anything for them to shop in.

We use Office Depot, Bass Pro and several other stores. We also had several customers who were Circuit City die hards, buy through us.

Circuit City, I believe, really benefited from the partnership but in the end it wasn't enough. However, the name and website has been bought out...not sure if Amway will pursue that partnership?

Personally, I wish the Partner Stores would go away.

In my experience, the Partner Stores only give the curiosity-approachers an excuse to decieve people into seeing the Amway business.

"I am working on an online marketing venture with Bass Pro and Office Depot."

After the person gets into the business they finally realize that 99.9 percent of their products are going to come from Amway, not Bass Pro or Office Depot.

I do the same. I'm yet to find a good deal in our partner stores so have never shopped from them, so I don't promote them any more than the way Sven does. I personally think Amway could do a much better job in negotiating these kind of deals. There is no reason at all why bringing in such a large customer base shouldn't be able to lead to cheaper pricing, even with PV/BV attached. If Amway in this part of the world isn't going to make the effort to do good deals, then they shouldn't do them at all as all it does is give critics legitimate ammunition.

I have seen good deals in the US and Australia, and did use them and promote them in Australia.

Yes, I would agree here with IBOFB. I think Amway could work some far better deals...even if it is only PV/BV ratios. Sears, although I really like the store and their charitable aspirations, does not really offer much in the way of incentives for IBOs or their customers. They are very restrictive with what products receive what incentives.

Pricing differences would be an I.T. expense and probably would require whole new webpages just for Amway. The ROI there might not be worth it....yet.

You could even relate Amway's lack of negotiating skills to 50th Anniversary Commemorative products which appear to me to be grossly overpriced as are support products for the likes of espring - or is this just Amway taking a bigger mark up on ABOs

I'm in 100% agreement there. I wonder if part of the problem is that product discussions and such occur in consultation with, in Europe, Founders Council - these guys are making more than a million bucks a year. A $50 Amway commerative pen or $70 Nutrilite commerative tablet holder is pocket change for them - but a luxury purchase for most IBOs.
